Christmas in Tenerife

Upon arrival in Tenerife, you will be met at the airport and transferred by coach to your hotel.

You will have a half day guided excursion to Santa Cruz. After breakfast you will travel to the famous seaport which is one of Spain's busiest and is the joint capital of the Canary Islands. This city was recently named one of the best five places in the world to live by "The Guardian" newspaper. 

You will then move on to visit the Basilica of Candelaria, to view the famous statue of the Black Madonna and bronze statues of the 'Guanches'. The Guanches were the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands and while it is generally believed that they no longer exist as a distinct ethnicity, many traces of their culture remain.

In the afternoon you will have free time to explore or shop at your own leisure. Your local guide will be happy to offer suggestions of activities to suit your interests.

Enjoy a day at leisure in Puerto de la Cruz, which has a great selection of bars, restaurants and cafes and is surrounded by several beaches. After lunch why not relax by the pool or take a stroll down the beach at Playa Jardin.

Day 4 will be free to enjoy at your leisure. We recommend you take some time to explore the town of Puerto de la Cruz, which has an excellent range of cafes and bars. Please note that majority of shops and botanical gardens will be closed on Christmas Day (official bank holiday in Spain).

In the evening, enjoy a special Christmas buffet dinner at your hotel to celebrate Christmas Day.

Today, have another day at leisure and to relax during your seasonal getaway. 

Or else let's explore more of Tenerife on an optional full day Island tour. 
First, we will visit the village of Icod de los Vinos on the west coast, which is famous for the Canary Islands Dragon Tree, the natural emblem of Tenerife. Next we will take a walk through Garachico, once the main port of the island destroyed by a volcanic eruption in the 18th century, today considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Canary Islands. The tour continues towards the heart of the island where the highest mountain in Spain rises. The Teide National Park is not only a national park but also a world heritage by UNESCO for being one of the most important volcanic landscapes in the world, and the most visited NP in Spain. Dominated by the highest peak in Spain, Mount Teide itself, this is a true highlight of any trip to Tenerife.

Please note this excursion is subject to minimum numbers and if you choose to do this excursion only breakfast & dinner will be included in your hotel on this day.

On your final day you are free to relax and enjoy your surroundings. Why not take a walk to Puerto de la Cruz for some last-minute souvenirs, relax at the Lago Martiánez saltwater pools, or enjoy the lush beauty of the Botanical Gardens.

Discover the charm of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its beautifully preserved colonial architecture and historic grid-patterned streets, which inspired many colonial towns in the Americas. Stroll through its vibrant plazas, visit centuries-old churches, and soak up the cultural heritage of this captivating city on a leisurely half-day exploration.

The afternoon is free to spend at your leisure.

Today you will be transferred to the airport with guide assistance for your flight home.
