Frascati Walking Tour including Lunch

This morning, after breakfast, we join our guide for a walking tour of Frascati. We will explore the local shops and botteghes. Here we will savour some celebrated local delicacies such as roasted pork, focaccia bread, biscotti — just out of the antique wood-fired oven, and jug wine from the oldest tavern in town. Be sure to save room for our included lunch in a hand-picked local fraschetta (typical rustic restaurant) famous for its porchetta.

Ancient Rome
Guided Walking Tour of Rome
Let’s join our guide this morning and travel by coach to Ancient Rome. Today, we will explore the city on a guided walking tour while taking in the sights of the Colosseum and Roman Forum (both viewed from outside), as well as discovering Piazza Venezia and the Trevi Fountain. We will have free time for lunch, shopping and sightseeing before returning to Frascati in the late afternoon.
Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo and Nemi
Castel Gandolfo
Join us for a full day excursion exploring the Alban Hills. We start our day with a visit to Castel Gandolfo, known as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy! In a splendid position overlooking Lake Albano, Castle Gandolfo is situated on the brink of a volcanic crater. Our guide will take us on a visit to the famous Papal Palace, where Popes have spent their summers since the 17th century. Enjoy some free time to refuel with lunch or explore further before our afternoon visit to Nemi.
Nemi
This afternoon we will travel to the town of Nemi, known for its delicious strawberries. The countryside of Rome and the Lazio region hosts a number of varieties of sweet flavoursome strawberries. Romans, however, associate strawberries with Nemi. The small, flavoursome strawberry from Nemi is also known, because of its size, as the “fragolina”. Since ancient times, the Nemi strawberry has been sold on the market stalls of Rome between May and September. Today we will indulge in a tasting of traditional tartlets with strawberries before we make our way back to the hotel for the evening.
