We recently held a competition asking our customers to share their favourite Travel Department holiday photos from 2024. The response was incredible, with entries showcasing breathtaking moments from around the world. We wanted to share a selection of the top photos from various holiday destinations, which may inspire you to book your next tour with us!
1. Safari in South Africa
This stunning photo of an elephant strolling through the lush green vegetation of South Africa's wilderness was the overall winner of our competition. It was captured during our Cape Town, the Garden Route & Safari tour, where you can embark on a thrilling safari in Kariega Game Reserve and try to spot the Big Five!

2. La Alhambra, Granada
On our Andalucía tours, we'll see the Jewel in the Crown of Moorish architecture - La Alhambra. a magnificent palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Spain. This photo beautifully captures the Court of Myrtles with its tranquil pool and elegant arches.

This photo captures a stunning section of the Great Wall of China, winding its way across the rugged mountainous landscape. On all our China tours, we'll explore this iconic landmark and learn more about its fascinating history. Imagine walking along this extraordinary structure and taking in the awe-inspiring views.

On our Lake Como holidays, we'll experience the Bernina Express. This photo perfectly encapsulates the stunning scenery of mountains and lakes, with the iconic red train winding its way along turquoise waters and snow-capped peaks, offering breathtaking views at every turn.

5. Kyoto, Japan
A trip to Japan at anytime of the year is an incredible experience, but there’s something truly magical about visiting during autumn. This photo of the Golden Pavilion, or Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto, beautifully captures the charm of Japan, with the temple’s golden reflection shimmering in the pond and the warm autumn colours adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

6. Venice, Italy
On our Lake Garda Holidays, we'll enjoy a day trip to Venice, where we'll discover its enchanting canals, iconic gondolas, and stunning waterfront views. This photo perfectly captures the essence of Venice, with gondolas gently moored by a wooden pier and the picturesque backdrop of San Giorgio Maggiore, showcasing the timeless beauty and charm of this extraordinary city.

On select Spain holidays, we'll visit the stunning city of Seville. This photo captures a glimpse of the magnificent Plaza de España, with its vibrant ceramic balustrades, serene canal, and striking architecture that reflects a blend of Renaissance Revival and Moorish styles.

8. Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
One of the top highlights of our Vietnam holidays is exploring Ha Long Bay. This photo beautifully showcases its natural splendour, with tranquil emerald waters, towering limestone karsts, and traditional wooden rowboats that offer an authentic way to experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

9. Madeira, Portugal
This photo, taken on our Highlights of Madeira tour, demonstrates the spectacular coastal scenery of this beautiful island. 10. Spotting Tigers in Ranthambore National Park
